He played college football as a wide receiver at Illinois and signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Moorehead played his entire 5-year career with the Colts from 2003 to 2007 and was a member of their Super Bowl XLI winning team over the Chicago Bears. After his playing career ended, Moorehead began his coaching career and was the wide receivers coach for Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
