Mavis Chin OBE, known professionally as Mona Hammond, is a Jamaican-born actress of Chinese descent and co-founder of the Talawa Theatre Company. Born in Jamaica, Hammond emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1959, where she has lived ever since. Hammond has had a long and distinguished stage career. She is best known for her work on British television, which has included various roles in sitcoms most notably playing Blossom Jackson in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She was made an OBE in the 2005 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to drama. In 2018, Hammond was awarded the Women of the World Lifetime Achievement Award for her long and distinguished theatre career and for championing Black British actors with Talawa Theatre Company.

Jørn Riel is a Danish writer. He is partly known for works on Greenland as he lived there for sixteen years. One of his works was adapted to film as Before Tomorrow .

Manfred Purzer is a German screenwriter and film director. He wrote 27 films between 1955 and 1993. In 1974, he was a member of the jury at the 24th Berlin International Film Festival.

He has served as the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Governor of Maharashtra, Governor of Gujarat, Governor of Goa and Governor of Odisha. He was awarded the third-highest Civilian Award in India, Padma Bhusan in 2020 for his work in public affairs.

Charles Weissmann is a Hungarian-born Swiss molecular biologist. Weissmann is particularly known for the first cloning and expression of interferon and his contributions to the unraveling of the molecular genetics of neurogenerative prion diseases such as scrapie, Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease and "mad cow disease".

Wolfgang Demtröder is a German physicist and spectroscopist. He is the author of several textbooks on laser spectroscopy and a series of four textbooks on experimental physics. His books entitled Laserspektroskopie and Laser Spectroscopy are considered classics in the field. From 1970 til 1999, he was ordinary professor at Kaiserslautern University of Technology. Awarded the Max Born Prize in 1994.

K. S. Sethumadhavan is an Indian film director and screenwriter working in Malayalam cinema. He has also directed films in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Since the early 1960s he has directed over 60 movies. He has directed many landmark films in the Malayalam film history such as Odeyil Ninnu, Yakshi, Kadalpalam, Achanum Bappayum, Ara Nazhika Neram, Panitheeratha Veedu, Anubhavangal Palichakal, Punarjanmam and Oppol. He has won numerous awards including ten National Film Awards and nine Kerala State Film Awards including Four for Best Direction. In 2009, he was awarded the J. C. Daniel Award, Kerala government's highest honour for contributions to Malayalam cinema
