Herbert Aaron Hauptman was an American mathematician and Nobel laureate. He pioneered and developed a mathematical method that has changed the whole field of chemistry and opened a new era in research in determination of molecular structures of crystallized materials. Today, Hauptman's direct methods, which he continued to improve and refine, are routinely used to solve complicated structures. It was the application of this mathematical method to a wide variety of chemical structures that led the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences to name Hauptman and Jerome Karle recipients of the 1985 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Alan Baumgarten is an American film editor. He frequently collaborates with directors Jay Roach and Ruben Fleischer having edited four of their feature films. In 2013, Baumgarten, together with co-editors Jay Cassidy and Crispin Struthers were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing for American Hustle.

Hervé Biausser is the former director of two French engineering schools, École Centrale Paris and Supélec, positions he has held since 2003 and 2013, respectively. He was the director of CentraleSupélec from 1 January 2015, date when the fusion of the two schools was effective, until 31 August 2018 when he was replaced by Romain Soubeyran.

Lesya Mykhailivna Kalytovska is a Ukrainian professional racing cyclist. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's points race, and the women's individual pursuit, winning a bronze medal in the later. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's team pursuit for the national team.

Minoru Kanehisa is a Japanese bioinformatician. He is a project professor at Kyoto University, technical director of Pathway Solutions Inc and president of NPO Bioinformatics Japan. He is one of Japan's most recognized and respected bioinformatics experts and is known for developing the KEGG bioinformatics database.
