Robert Bushnell Ryan was an American stage, film, and television actor who most often portrayed hardened cops and ruthless villains. Ryan performed for over three decades and received one nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the vicious murderer Montgomery in the film noir drama Crossfire (1947).
