A member of the Democratic Party, Coons served as the county executive of New Castle County from 2005 to 2010. He was the 1983 Truman Scholar from Delaware, and the first recipient of the award to serve in the United States Senate.

John Fashanu is a British television presenter and former professional footballer. In his former career, he was a powerful centre-forward from 1978 until 1995, most notably in an eight-year spell at Wimbledon F.C. in which he won the FA Cup in 1988 and scored over 100 goals in all competitions. In 2012, Kewell was named Australia's greatest footballer in a vote by Australian fans, players and media.
