Sean Christopher Avery is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career in the National Hockey League (NHL), he played left wing for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars and New York Rangers, gaining recognition for his agitating playing style and controversial behaviour both on and off the ice. He finished his 12-year career with a total of 90 goals, 247 points and 1,533 penalty minutes in 580 games. He led the league in penalty minutes twice, during the 2003–04 and 2005–06 NHL seasons. He is also known for his eclectic interests, having worked in fashion, most notably as an intern at Vogue magazine; as a model; and as a restaurateur.

Uwe Hohn is a retired German track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He is the only athlete to throw a javelin 100 metres or more, with his world record of 104.80 m. A new javelin design was implemented in 1986 and the records had to be restarted, thus Hohn's mark became an "eternal world record".

Luciano Narsingh is a Dutch professional footballer who plays for Eredivisie club Twente, on loan from Feyenoord. He is right-footed and usually plays as a right winger but can also play as a left winger, and both side of attacking midfield. Since 2012, he has also played for the Netherlands national team, whom he represented at that year's European Championship.

Víctor Estrella Burgos is a retired Dominican professional tennis player. In 2014, Estrella became the first Dominican to reach the top 100 in the ATP rankings. He also became the first Dominican player to reach the semifinals in an ATP 250 tournament in Bogota. In 2015, he also became the first tennis player from his country to participate in all four Grand Slams, playing in the Australian Open. In February 2015, he won his first career ATP title at the Ecuador Open, becoming the oldest first-time ATP tour winner in the Open Era. He successfully defended his title and 100% winning record at the event in 2016 and 2017, but lost in the second round in 2018.

James Anthony Piersall was an American baseball center fielder who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for five teams, from 1950 through 1967. Piersall was best known for his well-publicized battle with bipolar disorder that became the subject of a book and a film, Fear Strikes Out.

Jay Alexander Clarke is a British tennis player. In 2017, on a Wimbledon wildcard, Clarke and Marcus Willis beat the defending doubles champions and second seeds, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, in a five-setter, to progress to the third round. Clarke has won four Futures titles.

Jeffrey Charles Rohrer is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Yale University and was drafted in the second round of the 1982 NFL Draft.

Paul Andrew Stewart is an English former professional footballer who played top division football for Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, and was capped three times at senior level for England in the early 1990s, also winning the FA Cup with Tottenham Hotspur.

Plaxico Antonio Burress is a former American football wide receiver who played 12 seasons in the National Football League. He played college football at Michigan State, and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers eighth overall in the 2000 NFL Draft. He also played for the New York Giants and the New York Jets, and caught the game-winning touchdown in Super Bowl XLII as the Giants beat the then-undefeated New England Patriots.
