Herbert Kuppisch was a German naval officer during World War II and commander of U-58, U-94, U-516, and U-847. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Kuppisch and the crew of U-847 were killed by aircraft from the US escort carrier USS Card on 27 August 1943.

Brian Backer is an American former actor who has starred in film and on television. He is best known for his role in the 1982 hit comedy film Fast Times at Ridgemont High as shy teenager Mark "Rat" Ratner. He appeared in the 1985 comedy film Moving Violations as Scott Greeber and the 1987 comedy film Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol as Arnie.

Elena Kazantseva is a Belarusian poet and singer-songwriter who writes in the Russian language. She recorded five music albums with songs on her own poetry and published two books of her poems, "Night City" (1992) and "Concerto " (2002). She sings and plays the guitar and the piano. In 1988, she won Second All-Union festival of song in Tallinn.
