Dr. Sergei Alexander Schelkunoff, who published as S. A. Schelkunoff, was a distinguished mathematician and electromagnetism theorist who made noted contributions to antenna theory.

Prince Sergei Nikolaevich Trubetskoy (1862–1905) was a Russian religious philosopher. He was the son of Prince Nikolai Petrovitch Trubetskoy, co-founder of the Moscow Conservatory, and Sophia Alekseievna Lopouchina, who was a big influence on his religious thought. Trubetskoy and his brother, Evgenii Nikolaevitch Troubetzkoy (1863–1920), continued Vladimir Solovyov's work on developing a modern Christian philosophy of the world. He was also a professor of philosophy at Moscow University and a founding member of the underground discussion circle Beseda.

Sergei Gavrilovich Navashin ; was a Russian biologist. He discovered double fertilization in plants in 1898.

Sergei Martynov is a Belarusian 50 m rifle shooter. He is the 2012 Olympic champion in the 50 m rifle prone event.

Sergei Nikolayevich Novitski is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. He skated with Jana Khokhlova until April 2010. Together, they are the 2008 World bronze medalists, 2009 European champions, and two-time (2008–09) Russian national champions.

Sergei Oleksandrovych Verbillo is a Ukrainian former competitive ice dancer. With partner Anna Zadorozhniuk, he is the 2009 & 2010 Ukrainian national champion. Verbillo previously skated with Alla Beknazarova.

Sergei Valeryevich Ivanov is a former professional road bicycle racer, who competed between 1996 and 2011. Ivanov had been a member of six different teams, competing for CSKA Lada-Samara, TVM-Farm Frites, Fassa Bortolo, T-Mobile Team, Astana and Team Katusha. In this time he completed in five Grand Tours, and also won six national championship titles. He also won the Tour de Pologne 1998. He now lives in Bekkevoort, Belgium.
