Mikhail Nikolayevich Pokrovsky was a Russian Marxist historian, Bolshevik revolutionary and a public and political figure. One of the earliest professionally trained historians to join the Russian revolutionary movement, Pokrovsky is regarded as the most influential Soviet historian of the 1920s and was known as “the head of the Marxist historical school in the USSR”.

Mikhail Rudy, is an Uzbekistan-born French pianist, who has won several awards for his recordings including the Grand prix du disque.

Mikhail Mikalayevich Chigir is a Belarusian politician who served as the second Prime Minister of Belarus from 21 July 1994 to 18 November 1996.

Mikhail Nikiforovich Vergeyenko is a Belarusian association football manager and former goalkeeper who managed the Belarus national football team between 1992 and 1994 and from 1998 to 1999. Vergeyenko also played for Dinamo Minsk between 1 July 1968 and 30 June 1983.

Mikhail "Misha" Voloshin was a Russian and American theoretical physicist. Voloshin graduated from physics class of Moscow School 57 in 1970. Voloshin started working at ITEP in 1976 and accordingly earned his Ph.D. in 1977. In 1983 he received a Soviet medal and an award in physics. Beginning in 1990, he taught quantum physics at the William I Fine Theoretical Physics Institute, a division of the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering. In 1997 elected a fellow of the American Physical Society. In 2001 he was awarded J.J. Sakurai Prize for Theoretical Particle Physics and in 2004 he was awarded the Alexander-von-Humboldt Award.
