Margherita Piazzolla Beloch was an Italian mathematician who worked in algebraic geometry, algebraic topology and photogrammetry.

Margherita Malatesta of the House of Malatesta was the wife of Francesco I Gonzaga of the powerful House of Gonzaga, the ruler of Mantua in Northern Italy, whom she married in 1393. They were already related through the marriage of his sister, Elisabetta, to her brother, Carlo. Francesco's first wife Agnese Visconti had been executed for infidelity in 1391. Margherita and Francesco I were the parents of Gianfrancesco I the first Marquis of Mantua. Gianfrancesco married Paola Malatesta, daughter of Malatesta IV, in 1409.

Margherita Occhiena Bosco was the mother of John Bosco and worked with the poor and the less fortunate. Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed her to be Venerable in 2006.

Margherita Guarducci was an Italian archaeologist, classical scholar, and epigrapher. She was a major figure in several crucial moments of the 20th century academic community. A student of Federico Halbherr, she edited his works after his death. She was the first woman to lead archaeological excavations at the Vatican, succeeding Ludwig Kaas, and completed the excavations on Saint Peter's tomb, discovering relics she asserted were those of Saint Peter. She has asserted that the inscription on the Praeneste fibula is a forgery.
