Irina Vladimirovna Kiseleva is a former Soviet modern pentathlete. She won medals at five consecutive World Modern Pentathlon Championships from 1984 through 1988. These included two gold medals and two sliver medals in the individual competition. She also two gold medals and one silver medal in the team competition.

Irina Dmitrievna Prokhorova is a Russian philologist, literary critic and cultural historian, chief editor of the New Literary Observer publishing house and of the literature academic journal of the same name, co-founder of the Mikhail Prokhorov Charitable Foundation. In 2012, she helped her billionaire brother Mikhail Prokhorov in his presidential run, heading his political party Civic Platform from 2013–2014.

Irina Vladimirovna Kalinina is a former Soviet diver and olympic champion. She competed at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, where she won the gold medal in Women's 3 metre springboard.

Irina Liebmann is a German journalist-author and sinologist of Russo-German provenance. She has won a number of important literary prizes: the most significant of these, probably, was the 2008 Leipzig Book Fair non-fiction Prize, awarded for "Wäre es schön? Es wäre schön!", a biography of her father, a noted anti-Nazi activist and political exile in Warsaw and Moscow who, after 1945, returned to what became, in 1949, the German Democratic Republic and in 1953, despite his longstanding record of communist activism, emerged as an uncompromising critic of the East German leader Walter Ulbricht: he was expelled from the party and suffered various other government mandated public indignities. She grew up and lived the first part of her adult life in the German Democratic Republic, but succeeded in moving to West Berlin during 1988, thereby anticipating reunification by more than a year.

Irina Igorevna Poltoratskaya is a Russian team handball player, playing on the Russian women's national handball team. She won gold medal with the Russian winning team in the 2005 World Women's Handball Championship in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and again in the 2007 World Women's Handball Championship in France.
