Gu Fangzhou was a Chinese virologist, best known for developing domestic OPV and eradicating polio in the country.

Gu Changwei is a Chinese cinematographer and film director. Gu was born in Xi'an, Shaanxi in the People's Republic of China. Gu is considered one of the major Chinese cinematographers working today.

Eileen Feng Gu, alternatively known as Ailing Gu, is an American-born freestyle skier in halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air events who has competed for China since 2019. She also has a career as a fashion model.

Ku Fu-sheng (1935-2017) was a Shanghai-born Taiwanese-American painter. The son of General Ku Chu-tung, he fled with his family to 1948. Graduating from National Taiwan Normal University in 1958, he became associated with the Fifth Moon group. In his later career he studied in Paris and New York and lived in various cities of the United States. His work is best known for his queer-themed oil paintings, which in 2017 were included in a retrospective of LGBT art at the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei. In 2021, a solo retrospective was mounted at Eslite Gallery. He was Sanmao's painting teacher and a close friend of the author Pai Hsien-yung.

Gu Bon-gil is a South Korean fencer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed as part of the South Korean team in the Men's team sabre, where he won a gold medal. In the individual event he was defeated in the third round.

Gu Chunli is a former Chinese politician who spent most of his career in Northeast China's Liaoning province. He was investigated by the Communist Party of China's anti-graft agency in August 2015. He previously served as the Vice-Governor of Jilin and Communist Party Secretary of Anshan.
