David M. Brown
David McDowell Brown was a United States Navy captain and a NASA astronaut. He died on his first spaceflight, when the Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107) disintegrated during orbital reentry into the Earth's atmosphere. Brown became an astronaut in 1996, but had not served on a space mission prior to the Columbia disaster. Brown was posthumously awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
David Donoho
David Leigh Donoho is an American statistician. He is a professor of statistics at Stanford University, where he is also the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor in the Humanities and Sciences. His work includes the development of effective methods for the construction of low-dimensional representations for high-dimensional data problems, development of wavelets for denoising and compressed sensing. He was elected a Member of the American Philosophical Society in 2019.

David Macaulay is a British-born American illustrator and writer. His works include Cathedral (1973), The Way Things Work (1988) and The New Way Things Work (1998). His illustrations have been featured in nonfiction books combining text and illustrations explaining architecture, design and engineering, and he has written a number of children's fiction books. Macaulay was a 2006 recipient of a MacArthur Fellows Program award and received the Caldecott Medal in 1991 for Black and White (1990).
David Platt
David Joseph Platt is an American pastor and author. He is currently pastor-teacher at McLean Bible Church, and previously he was the senior pastor at the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama, at the time he was the youngest megachurch pastor in the United States. He is the author of the New York Times Best Seller Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream and since then has released numerous other books. From 2014 through 2017, Platt was president of the International Mission Board. Platt founded a resource ministry, Radical.net, which promotes his books, sermons and podcasts and multiple simulcasts throughout the year and provides resources concerning persecuted believers. He is known for conducting the intensive Bible study simulcast, Secret Church, meant to imitate the Bible study experiences of the underground church.
