She is best known for portraying Cleo Sertori in H₂O: Just Add Water, Fiona Maxwell in Tomorrow, When the War Began, Faye Chamberlain in The Secret Circle, and Hayley Marshall in The CW series The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off series The Originals.

Michael Harvey Tonkin is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He previously has played for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Humphrey R. Tonkin is professor of English, and served as the 4th president of the University of Hartford. He is also a dedicated Esperantist.
