Edward Richard Stewart was a Scottish Member of Parliament (MP) in the Parliament of the United Kingdom and a Commissioner of the Victualling Board from 1809 to 1813. and Paymaster and Inspector-General of the Marines from 1812 to 1813.

Alexander Stewart, Duke of Albany, was the second surviving son of King James II of Scotland. He fell out with his older brother, King James III, and fled to France, where he unsuccessfully sought help. In 1482 he invaded Scotland with the army of King Edward IV of England and assumed control of the country. Scottish lords turned against him in 1483 and he fled after Edward died. The second invasion, in 1484, was not supported by the new English king, Richard III, and failed. He died in a duel with the Duke of Orléans, by a splinter from his lance.

Edward Stewart was a Scottish Whig then Liberal MP in the British Parliament. He was a nephew of the Earl of Galloway.

Marie Stewart, Countess of Mar (1576-1644) was a Scottish courtier. She was the daughter of Esmé Stewart, 1st Duke of Lennox, a favourite of James VI of Scotland, and Catherine de Balsac. After her marriage, as was customary in Scotland, she did not change her name, and signed her letters as "Marie Stuart".

William Stewart, of Castle Stewart, was a Scottish MP in the British Parliament. He was a member of a junior branch of the family of the Earl of Galloway, being the first son of John Stewart of Castle Stewart.
