For catalyzing an originalist and textualist movement in American law, he has been described as one of the most influential jurists of the twentieth century, and one of the most important justices in the Supreme Court's history. Scalia was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018, and the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University was named in his honor.

Eugene Scalia is an American politician and attorney who served in the Donald Trump administration as the 28th United States Secretary of Labor, from September 30, 2019 to January 20, 2021. He was formerly a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; and previously served one year as Solicitor of the Department of Labor during the George W.
