O. J. Mayo
Ovinton J'Anthony "O. J." Mayo is an American professional basketball player for the Liaoning Flying Leopards of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played a single season of college basketball for the USC Trojans while earning first-team All-Pac-10 honors. The team forfeited all of its wins that season and Mayo lost his remaining three years of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) eligibility after it was ruled he received improper benefits. Mayo entered the 2008 NBA draft and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the third overall pick. He was later traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, with whom he played four seasons. In 2011, he tested positive for a banned steroid (DHEA) and was suspended by the NBA for 10 games. Mayo signed with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012, and then with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013. On July 1, 2016, Mayo was dismissed from the NBA for violating the league's anti-drug program. After a two-year hiatus, he resumed his career with Atléticos de San Germán of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) in Puerto Rico.
Jerod Mayo
Jerod Mayo Sr. is an American football coach and former linebacker who is the inside linebackers coach for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). Mayo played college football for the University of Tennessee and was drafted by the Patriots tenth overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and played for the Patriots until retiring following the 2015 season. He rejoined them as a coach in 2019.

Simon Andrew Hicks Mayo is an English radio presenter and author who has worked for BBC Radio since 1982. Mayo was the presenter of Simon Mayo Drivetime on BBC Radio 2 between January 2010 and May 2018 and is, with Mark Kermode, presenter of Kermode and Mayo's Film Review on BBC Radio 5 Live. Mayo was the presenter of a revamped drive time show on Radio 2 with co-host Jo Whiley which was broadcast from 14 May 2018 to 20 December 2018. Mayo presented the last show solo the following day, which marked the end of his career on the station after 17 years of broadcasting.

Masayo Sawada , better known by her stagename Sister MAYO, is a Japanese singer. She is a member of the Columbia Music Entertainment duo Cyber Nation Network, and a vocalist in Project.R which performs many theme songs for the Super Sentai series, some have reached the top ten in Oricon's charts. Her best-known songs as a soloist have been the opening theme of Haré+Guu and the ending theme of Mahou Sentai Magiranger. She is the younger sister of heavy metal musician Taiji, with whom she was in the rock band Otokaze.
