Ryū Ryū Ko
Ryū Ryū Ko, also known as Xie Ru Ru or Ru Ru Ko, was a Chinese martial artist who most likely practiced the Fujian White Crane style of Kung Fu. His most notable students included many of the founders of different Okinawan martial arts which later produced Karate. These students included Higaonna Kanryō who founded Naha-te which became Gōjū-ryū. The kata Sanchin, taught in Gōjū-ryū and many other Naha-te based styles of Karate, was originally taught by Ryū Ryū Ko.

Hwawei Ko was a Taiwanese pedagogue and professor who specialised in the promotion of reading education in Taiwan. She was the first director of the Learning and Teaching Institute of the Faculty of Letters at the National Central University and was professor of both the Department of Psychology of the National Chengchi University and at the National Chung Cheng University's Department of Psychology. Hwawei was a visiting scholar of the Harvard Institute for Educational Management and the Learning Research and Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh.

Leon Ko Sai-tseung is a composer for musical theatre and films. He won a Richard Rodgers Development Award, a Golden Horse Award and numerous musical awards. His mother, Lucilla You Min (尤敏), was a famous actress in post-war Hong Kong Mandarin cinema and won "Best Actress" at the 1st Annual Golden Horse Awards and two consecutive Asian Film Festivals. His grandfather, Bak Yuk Tong (白玉堂), was a famous Cantonese opera artist, known as one of the Four Super Stars (四大天王).
