Javier Alva Orlandini was a peruvian lawyer and politician. A prominent member of the political party Popular Action, he served as the President of the party. He served as the Second Vice President of Peru during the government of Fernando Belaúnde from 1980 to 1985. Throughout his life he became a Deputy (1963–1968), Minister of Government and Police (1965–1966), Senator, President of the Senate (1981–1982), and Congressman (1995–2000). In 2002, he became a Magistrate of the Constitutional Court, at the same time being elected by Congress as the President of the Court for a 3-year term. He was a candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in 1985, but he only got 7.3% of the popular vote, placing fourth and lost the election to Alan García. He later served as President of Peru's Constitutional Tribunal from 2002 to 2005.

Tao Porchon-Lynch was an American yoga master and award-winning author of French and Indian descent. She discovered yoga in 1926 when she was eight years old in India and studied with, among others, Sri Aurobindo, B.K.S. Iyengar, K. Pattabhi Jois, Swami Prabhavananda, and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. At age 101, she taught a weekly class in New York, and led programs across the globe. She was the author of two books, including her autobiography, Dancing Light: The Spiritual Side of Being Through the Eyes of a Modern Yoga Master, which won a 2016 IPPY Award and three 2016 International Book Awards. In the front matter endorsement, Deepak Chopra said: "One of the most acclaimed yoga teachers of our century, Tao Porchon-Lynch... is a mentor to me who embodies the spirit of yoga and is an example of Ageless Body, Timeless Mind. Like yoga, she teaches us to let go and to have exquisite awareness in every moment."

Yutakayama Hiromitsu was a sumo wrestler from Shibata, Niigata, Japan. A former amateur champion, he turned professional in 1970. His highest rank was komusubi. He wrestled for Tokitsukaze stable and took his shikona or fighting name from the head coach who recruited him, former ozeki Yutakayama Katsuo. After his retirement in 1981 he became an elder of the Japan Sumo Association, and founded the Minato stable which he led from 1982 until 2010. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2020.
