Victor Nikolaevich Popov was a Russian theoretical physicist known for his contribution to the quantization of non-abelian gauge fields. His work with Ludvig Faddeev on that subject introduced the fundamental objects now known as Faddeev–Popov ghosts. Popov graduated from the Department of Theoretical Physics of the Physics Faculty of Leningrad State University. Popov formed a group at LOMI in early 1965, where he remained for life.

Amiram Harten was an American/Israeli applied mathematician. Harten made fundamental contribution to the development of high-resolution schemes for the solution of hyperbolic partial differential equations. Among other contributions, he developed the total variation diminishing scheme, which gives an oscillation free solution for flow with shocks.

Lynn Harold Loomis was an American mathematician working on analysis. Together with Hassler Whitney, he discovered the Loomis–Whitney inequality.

Zeke Clements was an American country musician often dressed in a Western outfit. He was known as "The Dixie Yodeler."

Bilge Olgaç was a Turkish film director.

Patriarch Moran Mor Anthony III Peter Khoraish, , was the 75th Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and the Whole Levant from 1975 until his resignation in 1986, and a cardinal of the Catholic Church. He died on August 19, 1994.
