Milton Ruben Young was an American politician, most notable for representing North Dakota in the United States Senate from 1945 until 1981. At the time of his retirement, he was the most senior Republican in the Senate.

Ivan Matveevich Vinogradov was a Soviet mathematician, who was one of the creators of modern analytic number theory, and also a dominant figure in mathematics in the USSR. He was born in the Velikiye Luki district, Pskov Oblast. He graduated from the University of St. Petersburg, where in 1920 he became a Professor. From 1934 he was a Director of the Steklov Institute of Mathematics, a position he held for the rest of his life, except for the five-year period (1941–1946) when the institute was directed by Academician Sergei Sobolev. In 1941 he was awarded the Stalin Prize. In 1951 he became a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Letters in Kraków.

Sergei Chalibashvili was a Georgian competitive diver from the Soviet Union. He earned a silver medal at the European Youth Championship in 1978 in Florence, diving from the 10-meter diving platform.

Gertrude Kathleen Shaw was a British figure skater. She was born in Barton-upon-Irwell, Lancashire and was the 1926 World bronze medalist. She represented Great Britain at the 1924 Winter Olympics, where she placed 7th, and at the 1928 Winter Olympics, where she placed 14th. She won the inaugural British Figure Skating Championships in 1927.

Sigvard Munk, was a Danish politician for the Social Democratic Party. From 1956 to 1962, he was the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen.
