Johan Adolf "Jopie" Pengel was a Surinamese politician, and Prime Minister of Suriname from 30 June 1963 to 5 March 1969 for the National Party of Suriname (NPS).

Lem Davis, born Lemuel A. Davis, was an American swing music and jazz alto saxophonist born in Tampa, Florida. His career began in the 1940s with pianist Nat Jaffe. Davis is best known for playing with the Coleman Hawkins septet in 1943 as well as Eddie Heywood's group. Throughout the 1940s, he played in a variety of jazz groups. In 1953, he appeared on Buck Clayton's "The Hucklebuck" recording. He continued to play in New York City throughout the 1950s, but as bebop surpassed swing in popularity, he recorded little thereafter.

Edward Everett Horton Jr. was an American character actor. He had a long career in film, theater, radio, television, and voice work for animated cartoons.

Jules Munshin was an actor, comedian and singer who had made his name on Broadway when he starred in Call Me Mister. His additional Broadway credits include The Gay Life and Barefoot in the Park. On screen, he is best remembered for On the Town, in which he co-starred with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly as sailors on leave in New York City.

Arthur Herbert Copeland was an American mathematician. He graduated from Harvard University in 1926 and taught at Rice University and the University of Michigan. His main interest was in the foundations of probability.

Jaipal Singh Munda was an Indian politician, writer and sportsman. He was the member of the Constituent Assembly which debated on the new Constitution of the Indian Union. He captained the Indian field hockey team to clinch gold in the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam.
