Charles James Booth was a British shipowner, social researcher and reformer, best known for his innovative philanthropic studies on working-class life in London towards the end of the 19th century.

Guy Victor Baring was a British Army officer and politician. He became a Conservative member of the British House of Commons but was one of 22 Members killed in action in the First World War.

Ioannis Frangoudis was a Greek Army officer who reached the rank of Lt General. He also competed in the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens as a shooter.

Leo Anton Karl de Ball was a German-Austrian astronomer. He is credited by the Minor Planet Center as "K. de Ball" for his (sole) asteroid discovery, but seems to be best known as Leo de Ball.

Jan Otto was a Czech publisher and bookseller. He is best known for Otto's encyclopedia, the largest encyclopedia published in the Czech language.
