Lieutenant-General Sir Hew Dalrymple Fanshawe, was a British Army general of the First World War, who commanded V Corps on the Western Front and the 18th Indian Division in the Mesopotamian Campaign. He was one of three brothers who all rose to command divisions or corps during the war.

Richard Hu Tsu Tau is a former People's Action Party (PAP) politician in Singapore. He served as the Minister for Finance for 16 years from 1985 to 2001, and was also a Director of Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd. He is the son of doctor Hu Tsai Kuen.

Fred W. Friendly was a president of CBS News and the creator, along with Edward R. Murrow, of the documentary television program See It Now. He originated the concept of public-access television cable TV channels.

Alfred Sisley was an Impressionist landscape painter who was born and spent most of his life in France, but retained British citizenship. He was the most consistent of the Impressionists in his dedication to painting landscape en plein air. He deviated into figure painting only rarely and, unlike Renoir and Pissarro, found that Impressionism fulfilled his artistic needs.
