She worked with the Vicariate of Solidarity, the Social Aid Foundation of Christian Churches (FASIC), the National Corporation for Reparation and Reconciliation, and the Ministry of the Interior's Human Rights Program. She became the human rights director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after Chile's transition to democracy, and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2018.
