Frederica "Flicka" von Stade Gorman is a semi-retired American opera singer. Since her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1970, she has performed in operas, musicals, concerts and recitals in venues throughout the world, including La Scala, the Paris Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Salzburger Festspielhaus, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne and Carnegie Hall. Conductors with whom she has worked include Abbado, Bernstein, Boulez, Giulini, Karajan, Levine, Ozawa, Solti and Tilson Thomas. She has also been a prolific and eclectic recording artist, attracting nine Grammy nominations for best classical vocalist, and she has made many appearances on television.

Rob Scholte is a Dutch contemporary artist. From 1977 to 1982 he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. His work consists of reproductions of images from the media and from art history. He lives and works in Den Helder.

Sherri Frances Howard is a former American athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metres. She is the older sister of 1988 relay teammate Denean Howard.

Gabriele Zange is a retired German speed skater who specialized in the long distances, winning three Olympic bronze medals in these events in 1984 and 1988. In 1981 she won a European bronze medal in the 3000 m and later set a world record at the high-altitude rink of Medeo. In 1984, she won European championships, setting two world records, in the 5000 m (7:39.44) and allround, and finished third at the world championships. Next year she won a silver at the world championships, but then had no success until the 1987–88 season, when she set her fourth world record and won two Olympics medals. She retired soon after the 1988 Olympics and worked as a physiotherapist.

Edmund Frederick Robertson is a professor emeritus of pure mathematics at the University of St Andrews.
