Abul Khair Khan
Abulhair Khan, Abul Khair Khan (1693–1748) was leader of the Kazakh Little jüz in present-day western Kazakhstan. During this period, the Little jüz participated in the 1723-1730 war against the Zunghars, following their "Great Disaster" invasion of Kazakh territories. Under his leadership Kazakh ghazis defeated Dzungar forces at the Bulanty river in 1726 and in the Battle of Anrakai in 1729.

Zhazira Zhapparkul is a Kazakh Olympian weightlifter who competes in the women's 69 kg weight category. She took silver medals at the 2014 and 2015 World Championships. She represented Kazakhstan at the 2016 Summer Olympics, she placed second, winning the silver medal.

Shamshi Kaldayakov
Shamshi Kaldayakov was a Kazakhstani composer. He was born Shamshi Donbaiev, but ran away from school and changed his name to avoid the police. He started playing music aged 17 and mainly wrote songs in a waltz style, but in 1956, he composed the music to the patriotic song My Kazakhstan. It was adopted in 2006 to be the Kazakhstan national anthem by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev after a few modifications in the lyrics.
