John Walter Yanta, is a retired Roman Catholic bishop who served the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amarillo in Amarillo, Texas.

Michael David Pfeifer is the Roman Catholic bishop emeritus of the Diocese of San Angelo. He was born in Alamo, Texas, the son of Maund Pfeifer and Alice Clausney Savage. On December 21, 1964 he was ordained a priest for the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and served as a missionary in Mexico for several years. On May 31, 1985, Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of San Angelo; he was consecrated on July 26 of the same year.

James Kimble Vardaman was an American politician from the U.S. state of Mississippi and was the Governor of Mississippi from 1904 to 1908. A Democrat, Vardaman was elected in 1912 to the United States Senate in the first popular vote for the office, following adoption of the 17th Amendment. He defeated incumbent LeRoy Percy, a member of the planter elite. Vardaman served from 1913 to 1919.
