David Bystroň was a Czech professional footballer who played in the Czech First League for Baník Ostrava and Viktoria Plzeň as a defender. He also played for Sigma Olomouc and Bulgarian side Levski Sofia.

Ferenc Szálasi was the leader of the Arrow Cross Party – Hungarist Movement, the "Leader of the Nation" (Nemzetvezető), being both Head of State and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Hungary's "Government of National Unity" for the final six months of Hungary's participation in World War II, after Germany occupied Hungary and removed Miklós Horthy by force. During his brief rule, Szálasi's men murdered 10,000–15,000 Jews. After the war, he was tried and executed by the Hungarian court for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during World War II.

Peter Pellegrini is a Slovak politician who has served as Prime Minister of Slovakia from 2018 to 2020 and Minister of Health from December 2019 to March 2020. He previously served as Deputy Prime Minister (2016–2018) and Minister for Education and Science (2014), as well as spending two years as Speaker of the National Council (2014–2016). Pellegrini was a member of Direction – Social Democracy until he left the party and founded Voice – Social Democracy in late June 2020.

Pavol Demitra was a Slovak professional ice hockey player. He played nineteen seasons of professional hockey, for teams in the Czechoslovak First Ice Hockey League (CSL), National Hockey League (NHL), Slovak Extraliga (SVK), and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). A skilled offensive player, Demitra was a top-line forward throughout his career.

Tuvya Ruebner was an Israeli poet who wrote in Hebrew and German, and he also translated poems - from Hebrew into German and from German into Hebrew. In addition, he was the editor of numerous literary books, a scholar, a teacher, and a photographer. Ruebner was Emeritus Professor of German and Comparative Literature at Haifa University and Oranim College. The recipient of many literary awards in Israel, Germany and Austria, he was awarded the Israel Prize for Poetry in 2008 - the highest accolade the State of Israel bestows. The jury awarding that prize described Ruebner as "among the most important Hebrew poets", and his poetry as "restrained, polished and intellectual ... nourished by the ancient strata of Hebrew poetry and the best of the tradition of Central European poetry."

Stanislav Lobotka is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Italian club Napoli and the Slovak national team.

Paul Podolay is a German politician. Born in Bratislava, he represents Alternative for Germany (AfD). Paul Podolay has served as a member of the Bundestag from the state of Bavaria since 2017.

Ludwig Sokolov, was an Austro-Hungarian-born Slovak-Australian businessman and a Holocaust survivor. Because he was Jewish, he was sent to Auschwitz in 1942, where he served as one of concentration camp's Tätowierer until the camp was liberated near the end of World War II. He did not speak publicly about his wartime experiences until after the death of his wife in 2003 due to fears of being prosecuted as a Nazi collaborator. A fictionalised account of his life appears in the novel The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
