Johann Gottlieb Naumann was a German composer, conductor, and Kapellmeister.

Rudolf Lange was a German SS functionary and police official during the Nazi era. With the invasion of the Soviet Union, he served in Einsatzgruppe A before becoming a commander in the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) and all RSHA personnel in Riga, Latvia. He attended the Wannsee Conference, and was largely responsible for implementing the murder of Latvia's Jewish population during Holocaust.

Herbert Lichtenfeld was one of the most successful television screenplay writers in Germany. He wrote over 300 film scripts. Many of his scripts were successful in Germany.

From 1923 through 1945, Ernst Heinrich was Administrative Chief of the association "Haus Wettin – Albertinische Linie e.V.".

Christine of Saxony was a German noble, landgravine of Hesse. She was the regent of Hesse during 1547–1549.

Ibrahim Böhme was an East German politician and Stasi informer. Before becoming involved in politics, Böhme had worked numerous different jobs, including as a cook, waiter, bricklayer, teacher, and historian. In the late 1980s he is also known to have been a human rights advocate associated with the Initiative for Peace and Human Rights.

Evelyn Großmann is a German former figure skater. She is the 1990 European champion and 1991 European silver medallist.

Matthias Buse is an East German former ski jumper who competed from 1977 to 1984. He won the individual normal hill event at the 1978 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, then won a silver medal in the team large hill at the 1984 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Engelberg.
