Fedor Holz is a German professional poker player, originally from Saarbrücken, who focuses on high roller tournaments. He was ranked by Pocketfives.com as the best online MTT player in 2014 and 2015. In July 2016, Holz won his first WSOP bracelet, in the $111,111 High Roller For One Drop, winning $4,981,775.

Marlies Krämer is a feminist and politician. In 1996 she was a force in initiating the renaming of low-pressure areas in Germany, from formerly female names to a new naming system. Since 1998 these have been given female names one year and the following year male names are used instead.

Lars Peter Feld is a German economist who currently serves as director of the Walter Eucken Institut, Professor for Economic Policy at the University of Freiburg and as chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts. He will leave the council at the end of February 2021, not having been reappointed to a third term by Federal Minister of Finance Olaf Scholz.

Florian Müller is a German professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for SC Freiburg, on loan from Mainz 05.

Nora-Eugenie Gomringer is a German and Swiss poet and writer. She has won a number of awards, including the 2013 Literaturpreis des Kulturkreises der deutschen Wirtschaft, the 2015 Ingeborg-Bachmann-Preis and the Carl Zuckmayer Medal by Rhineland-Palatinate.

Lisa Klein is a German professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Canyon–SRAM.

Timo Bernhard is a former driver from Germany. He was a sports car driver from Porsche, but was seconded to Audi for selected events in 2009 and 2010. He has also raced for the CytoSport in the 2010 American Le Mans Series season (ALMS) and is a winner of the Triple Crown in endurance racing. On 29 June 2018, he became the first person in 35 years to break the all-time Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record, set since Stefan Bellof's in 1983 with a Porsche 956, in a derestricted Porsche 919 Evo with a time of 5:19.546.

Peter Hartz, was the human resources executive at the German public company Volkswagen AG (VW). Twenty percent of Volkswagen's shares are owned by the state of Lower Saxony. Hartz became notable as adviser to German chancellor and former Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Gerhard Schröder, with whom Hartz developed the so-called Hartz-reforms of the German labour market and job agencies - the German welfare benefit, 'Hartz IV', is named after the fourth stage of his reforms.

Maximillian Oppenheimer, known as Max Ophüls, was a German-born film director who worked in Germany (1931–1933), France, and the United States (1947–1950). He made nearly 30 films, the latter ones being especially notable: La Ronde (1950), Le Plaisir (1952), The Earrings of Madame de… (1953) and Lola Montès (1955). He was credited as Max Opuls on several of his American films, including The Reckless Moment, Caught, Letter from an Unknown Woman, and The Exile. The annual Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis in Saarbrücken is named after him.

Uwe Conradt is a German Christian Democratic politician who has been serving as Mayor of Saarbrücken since 2019.
