Sorana Mihaela Cîrstea is a Romanian tennis player. In singles, she achieved her career-high ranking of world No. 21 on 12 August 2013. In doubles, her career-high ranking is No. 35, which she reached on 9 March 2009. Her biggest achievements: reaching the quarterfinals at the 2009 French Open and reaching the final at the 2013 Rogers Cup. Over her career, Cîrstea has defeated top-ten players Anna Chakvetadze, Sara Errani, Jelena Janković, Angelique Kerber, Petra Kvitová, Li Na, Karolína Plíšková, Francesca Schiavone, Sam Stosur, Caroline Wozniacki, Vera Zvonareva, Johanna Konta.
Gabriel Bethlen
Gabriel Bethlen was Prince of Transylvania from 1613 to 1629 and Duke of Opole from 1622 to 1625. He was also King-elect of Hungary from 1620 to 1621, but he never took control of the whole kingdom. Bethlen, supported by the Ottomans, led his Calvinist principality against the Habsburgs and their Catholic allies.

Eva Mozes Kor
Eva Mozes Kor was a Romanian-born survivor of the Holocaust. Along with her twin sister Miriam, Kor was subjected to human experimentation under the direction of SS Doctor Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp in German-occupied Poland during World War II. Her parents and two older sisters were killed in the gas chambers at Birkenau; only she and Miriam survived.
Carol II of Romania
Carol II reigned as King of Romania from 8 June 1930 until his abdication on 6 September 1940. He was the eldest son of Ferdinand I and became crown prince upon the death of his grand-uncle, King Carol I in 1914. He was the first of the Hohenzollern kings of Romania to be born in the country; both of his predecessors had been born in Germany and only came to Romania as adults. As such, he was the first member of the Romanian branch of the Hohenzollerns who spoke Romanian as his first language, and was also the first member of the royal family to be raised in the Orthodox faith. Carol was also a fan of football, being the Romanian Football Federation's president for almost one year from 1924 until 1925.

Maria-Victoria Drăguș is a German-Romanian actress. Her film credits include If Not Us, Who?, Draussen ist Sommer and Kill Me. One notable role was in Palme d'Or-winning 2009 film The White Ribbon. She has had reoccurring roles in the television programs Dance Academy and Leipzig Homicide. She has a younger sister Paraschiva, and is the niece of the French writer Viorel Dragus.

Nicolae-Liviu Dragnea
Liviu Nicolae Dragnea is a Romanian engineer and former politician. Starting his career in the Democratic Party (PD), he joined the Social Democratic Party (PSD), eventually becoming its leader. After holding several positions as Minister, he resigned from the cabinet in May 2015, following a conviction in a case involving electoral fraud, for which he received a two-year suspended sentence in April 2016.
