Hermann Friedrich Waesemann was a German architect.

Carl Fürstenberg was one of the most prominent German bankers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and was responsible for the revival of the German mining industry during his era. Fürstenberg was born to Jewish parents in Danzig (Gdańsk). While working at a West Prussian textile mill throughout his childhood, he apprenticed under local banker R. Damme. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Berlin.

Johann Daniel Titius was a German astronomer and a professor at Wittenberg.

Philip E. Rosen was an American film director and cinematographer. He directed 142 films between 1915 and 1949.

Iwan Otto Armand Knorr was a German composer and teacher of music. A native of Gniew, he attended the Leipzig Conservatory where he studied with Ignaz Moscheles, Ernst Friedrich Richter and Carl Reinecke. In 1874 he became a teacher and in 1878 director of music theory instruction at the Imperial Kharkiv Conservatory, in what is now Ukraine. In 1883 he settled in Frankfurt, where he joined the faculty of the Hoch Conservatory; in 1908 he became director of the school. As a teacher he exerted great influence; among his pupils were Bernhard Sekles, Ernest Bloch, Vladimir Sokalskyi, Ernst Toch and Hans Pfitzner, as well as the English-speaking composers and friends that become known as the Frankfurt Group: Balfour Gardiner, Percy Grainger, Norman O'Neill, Roger Quilter and Cyril Scott.

Kurt Rosenfeld was a German lawyer and politician (SPD). He was a member of the national parliament ("Reichstag") between 1920 and 1932.

Johann (Hans) Hermann Schrader was a German classical archaeologist and art historian.
