Claremont is a British-born American comic book writer and novelist, known for his 1975–1991 stint on Uncanny X-Men, far longer than that of any other writer, during which he is credited with developing strong female characters as well as introducing complex literary themes into superhero narratives, turning the once underachieving comic into one of Marvel's most popular series.

Eduard Antonovich Matusevich is a retired Soviet speed skater who won a gold, a bronze and a silver medal at the European championships in 1965, 1967 and 1968, respectively. He competed at the 1964 and 1968 Winter Olympics in the 1,500 m event and finished in sixth and eighth place, respectively. He was all-round national champion in 1964–1966 and 1966 and won five individual titles in 1963–1966.
