A native of San Francisco, Orrick has been a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California since 2013. He formerly had a long career as a lawyer in private practice in San Francisco, and served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division of the United States Department of Justice during the Obama administration.
