She is best known for the manga Fullmetal Alchemist, which became a hit both domestically and internationally, and was adapted into two anime television series. The first loosely followed the source material and was released while the manga was still being written, and the second followed the events of the manga and was released after the manga was finished. She is also known for the manga adaptation of The Heroic Legend of Arslan novels.
