Qiang Wei is a Chinese politician and senior regional official. He is serving as Vice-Chairperson of National People's Congress Internal and Judicial Affairs Committee. Previously, he served as the Communist Party Secretary of Jiangxi province between 2013 and 2016. He spent much of his earlier political career in Beijing as a key leader of its law-enforcement institutions, including the Beijing Political and Legislative Affairs Commission (Zhengfawei) and the Beijing Public Security Bureau. He also served as the party chief of Qinghai province.

Gabriel Antonio José Pereira Villagrán was a Uruguayan politician, son of Antonio Pereira, of Portuguese ancestry, and wife María de la Asunción Villagrán e Artigas. He was president in 1838 and between 1 March 1856 and 1 March 1860.

Richard Varick was an American lawyer, military officer, and politician who has been referred to as "The Forgotten Founding Father." A major figure in the development of post-Independence New York City and State, Varick became the 45th Mayor of New York City in 1789 and served eleven consecutive one-year terms until 1801.

Monroe Heath was a U.S. politician. He served as Mayor of Chicago, Illinois (1876–1879) for the Republican Party, after winning the 1876 election. He was subsequently reelected the following year, defeating Perry H. Smith.
