Francesco Melzi, or Francesco de Melzi (1491–1570), was an Italian painter born into a family of the Milanese nobility in Lombardy. He was one of Leonardo da Vinci’s pupils.

Nicolò Barattieri was a Lombard engineer active in Venice of the 12th century. In 1180 he raised the Campanile of Venice to 200 feet. In about 1181 he built the first bridge across the Grand Canal a pontoon bridge that was the first version of the Rialto Bridge. Barattieri also erected the two columns in the Piazzetta di San Marco.

Bonaventura Francesco Cavalieri was an Italian mathematician and a Jesuate. He is known for his work on the problems of optics and motion, work on indivisibles, the precursors of infinitesimal calculus, and the introduction of logarithms to Italy. Cavalieri's principle in geometry partially anticipated integral calculus.

Rodolfo Vantini was an Italian architect. He is remembered for his Neoclassical contributions to architecture in his native city of Brescia and in the surrounding regions of northern Italy. His masterpiece is the design of Milan's Porta Orientale customs offices.

Carlo Ambrogio Lonati, baptized Giovanni Ambrogio Leinati, also Lunati; was an Italian composer, violinist and singer. Francesco Maria Veracini described him in 1760 as one of the most virtuoso violinists of his century.

Guglielmo della Porta was an Italian architect and sculptor of the late Renaissance or Mannerist period.
