Willem Schellinks (1623–1678), was a Dutch painter, draughtsman and etcher of landscapes and marine scenes and also a poet. Willem Schellinks was one of the most widely traveled Dutch artists of his time. He traveled along the Loire and the Seine in 1646, and between 1661 and 1665 he visited England, France, Italy, Malta, Germany and Switzerland, keeping a record of his travels in multiple landscapes and scenic views as well as a journal. Samantha Barning is a Dutch professional badminton player. She can play either in singles or in doubles. In 2014, she won a bronze medal in European Badminton Championships with Jorrit de Ruiter. Her current partner for women's doubles is Iris Tabeling.

John Goossens is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for ADO Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Sebald Justinus Brugmans was a Dutch botanist and physician. He was the son of naturalist Anton Brugmans (1732-1789).

Hendrik Hubert Frehen was a Dutch clergyman and bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Reykjavik. He became ordained in 1943. He was appointed bishop in 1968.

Piet or Pieter Ouborg was a Dutch artist. He started out in life as a teacher; this profession was threatened with interruption by the outbreak of World War I when Ouborg was liable to enlistment. He managed to evade military service by taking up a teaching position in the Dutch East Indies. While there, Ouborg took up drawing and painting. Returning to the Netherlands after the war, Ouborg found himself drawn to the work of Vincent van Gogh. In 1923 he began to experiment with painting in the Cubist style. In 1931, Ouborg visited Brussels and found himself drawn towards surrealism. During World War II and its immediate aftermath, Ouborg was drawn increasingly into the circle of the COBRA and its members such as Karel Appel and Corneille.

Otwin Evert Theodoor (Otwin) van Dijk is a Dutch politician and former civil servant. A member of the Labour Party, his political career started in the municipality council of Duiven. From 2005 to 2012 he served as alderman in Doetinchem. From 20 September 2012 to 6 July 2016 he was a member of the national parliament. Upon his resignation he was replaced by Harm Brouwer. On 8 July he was installed as mayor of the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, a neighbouring municipality of Doetinchem.
