This cartoon was the most contentious of the 12 Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons, which met with strong reactions from Muslims worldwide who condemned the act, including Western countries. Since the drawing of the cartoon, Westergaard has received numerous death threats and been a target of assassination attempts. As a result, he is under constant police protection.

Lucas Justra Bjerregaard is a Danish professional golfer who plays the European Tour. In May 2017, playing with Thorbjørn Olesen, they won the inaugural GolfSixes, an unofficial pairs event on the European Tour. Later that year, in September, he had his first solo win on the European Tour, the Portugal Masters. In October 2018, Bjerregaard won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship for his second European Tour victory.

Kaj Johannes Linna, né Kaj Juhani Kaukosalo, is a Finnish man who was sentenced to life imprisonment for a robbery-murder in Kalamark outside of Piteå, Sweden on 14 April 2004. He served the longest overturned sentence in Swedish history before a retrial was ordered, in which he was exonerated and freed. He was later awarded 18 million SEK as compensation for his time in prison, a record sum.
