In recent years, she has begun playwriting and composing, and has both directed and performed in her original work. Her one-act, one-woman play "Waiting Room" was performed at The Player's Theatre in New York City. "Waiting Room" was also featured in play festivals at Manhattan Repertory Theatre and Albany's Capital Repertory Theatre. Painting Faye Salvez, a full length musical written and scored by Covey, joined the New York Musical Festival (NYMF) in July, 2017.
