Abdul Baqi Jammoh
Abdul Baqi Jammoh, also known as Jammu, was a Jordanian politician. He served in both houses of the Parliament of Jordan, several times as a member of the House of Deputies and as member of the Senate between 1997 and 2001. During his time in the Senate Jammoh was part of the Islamist faction. Jammoh was member of the cabinet twice. He first served as Minister of state for parliamentary affairs between 1989 and 1991. His second position was that of Minister of state for legal and parliamentary affairs between 1994 and 1995. Jammoh was born in Zarqa.

Ibrahim Nasrallah
Ibrahim Nasrallah, the winner of the Arabic Booker Prize (2018), was born in 1954 to Palestinian parents who were evicted from their land in Palestine in 1948. He spent his childhood and youth in a refugee camp in Jordan, and began his career as a teacher in Saudi Arabia. After returning to Amman, he worked in the media and cultural sectors till 2006 when he dedicated his life to writing. To date, he has published 15 poetry collections, 21 novels, and several other books. In 1985, he started writing the Palestinian Comedy covering 250 years of modern Palestinian history in a series of novels in which each novel is an independent one; to date 12 novels have been published in the framework of this project. Five of his novels and a volume of poetry have been published in English, four works in Italian, and one novel in Danish, Turkish, and Persian.
Elias Farkouh
Elias Farkouh was a Jordanian short story writer and novelist. He was born in Amman in 1948 and was educated in Amman and East Jerusalem. He graduated from the Arab University of Beirut where he read philosophy and psychology. He worked as a journalist in the early part of his career. After working at the publishing house Al-Manarat, he set up his own house Dar Azminah in 1991 and ran it until his death.
