Saharon Shelah is an Israeli mathematician. He is a professor of mathematics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Shimshon Amitsur
Shimshon Avraham Amitsur was an Israeli mathematician. He is best known for his work in ring theory, in particular PI rings, an area of abstract algebra.
Berenice
Berenice was the daughter of Salome I, the sister of Herod the Great. She married her cousin Aristobulus in order to reduce discord within her family caused by Herod's favoritism towards his wife Mariamne. Her marriage was an attempt to unite the two main sides of her family previously split by marriage and alleviate the tension surrounding which side would be responsible to succeeding Herod. This did not solve the problems present among the heirs, and eventually Aristobulus was executed by his father in 6 BCE, and Berenice was accused of complicity in his death. By Aristobulus she was the mother of Herod Agrippa I, Herod of Chalcis, Herodias, Mariamne III and Aristobulus Minor.
Reuven Rivlin
Reuven "Ruvi" Rivlin is an Israeli politician and lawyer who has served as the current president of Israel since 2014. He is a member of the Likud party. Rivlin was Minister of Communications from 2001 to 2003, and subsequently served as Speaker of the Knesset from 2003 to 2006 and 2009 to 2013. On 10 June 2014, he was elected President of Israel.
