Angelo Anelli was an Italian poet and librettist who also wrote under the pseudonyms Marco Landi and Niccolò Liprandi. He was born in Desenzano del Garda and studied literature and poetry at a seminary in Verona. In 1793 he enrolled in the University of Padua, receiving a degree in Canon and Civil Law two years later. Active in the politics of the Cisalpine Republic in his youth, he was imprisoned twice. His 1789 sonnet on the vicissitudes of Italy under Austrian domination, "La calamità d'Italia", was for a long time incorrectly attributed to Ugo Foscolo.

Vincenzo Bettoni was an Italian operatic bass who performed internationally from 1902-1950. He was a resident artist at La Scala in Milan from 1926-1940, and afterwards continued to appear periodically as a guest artist at that house through 1950. Other opera houses he sang with during his career included the Liceu, the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro Colón, the Teatro di San Carlo, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Vienna State Opera, and the Zurich Opera among others.

Girolamo Aleandro, the younger was a very distinguished Italian scholar. His grand-uncle Girolamo Aleandro, the elder (1480–1542) is better known and was the first cardinal appointed in pectore.

Pietro Pomponazzi was an Italian philosopher. He is sometimes known by his Latin name, Petrus Pomponatius.

Giovanni Enrico Aberle Sforza, better known as Juan Aberle, was an Italian conductor and composer who lived in Guatemala and El Salvador.

Mario Gallo was an Italian-born, Argentine film director of the 1900s and 1910s and one of the early directors in the cinema of Argentina. He directed what is nowadays considered the country's first fiction feature movie, El fusilamiento de Dorrego, now lost.
