Georges Urbain was a French chemist, a professor of the Sorbonne, a member of the Institut de France, and director of the Institute of Chemistry in Paris. Much of his work focused on the rare earths, isolating and separating elements such as europium and gadolinium, and studying their spectra, their magnetic properties and their atomic masses. He discovered the element lutetium. He also studied the efflorescence of saline hydrates.

Jean-Rodolphe Perronet was a French architect and structural engineer, known for his many stone arch bridges. His best known work is the Pont de la Concorde (1787).

Jean-Pierre Batut is a French bishop and theologian. Appointed bishop of Blois and installed there on 11 January 2015, he served in the Issy-lès-Moulineaux seminary near Paris, and as Curé of Ste. Jeanne de Chantal church in the XVI^e Arrondissement of Paris before being appointed auxiliary bishop in Lyons.

Bernard Picart or Picard, was a French draughtsman, engraver, and book illustrator in Amsterdam, who showed an interest in cultural and religious habits.

Georges Speicher was a French cyclist who won the 1933 Tour de France along with three stage wins, and the 1933 World Cycling Championship.
