Pierre Louis Antoine Cordier was a French geologist and mineralogist, and a founder of the French Geological Society. He was professor of geology at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris from 1819 to 1861, and was responsible for the development of the geological gallery in the museum.
Louis DuBois
Louis Du Bois was a Huguenot colonist in New Netherland who, with two of his sons and nine other refugees, founded the town of New Paltz, New York. These Protestant refugees fled Catholic persecution in France, emigrating to the Rhenish Palatinate and then to New Netherland, where they settled in Wiltwyck and Nieuw Dorp (present-day Hurley, New York, settlements midway between New Amsterdam and Beverwyck before ultimately founding New Paltz.
Jean-François-Joseph Lecointe
Jean-François-Joseph Lecointe (1783–1858) was official architect to king Charles X of France. He worked in direct collaboration with Jacques Ignace Hittorff from 1819 to 1830, in particular on the Théâtre de l'Ambigu-Comique and the organisation of grand royal ceremonies and the elaborate temporary structures these required. He is buried at the Notre-Dame cemetery in Versailles.
