List of Famous people born in Greece

Alexandros Koumoundouros was a Greek politician. Born in Kampos, on the Messenian side of the Mani Peninsula, he was the son of Spyridon-Galanis Koumoundouros, the bey of the area during the last period of the administration of the region by the Ottoman Empire.

Dimitrie Cozacovici was a Romanian historian. He was one of the founding members of the Romanian Academy. Cozacovici was an Aromanian from Metsovo and one of the main figures of the early Aromanian national movement. He migrated to Wallachia out of national pride feelings and became an officer in the Wallachian army in 1834. His efforts led to the establishment of an Aromanian committee in Bucharest. His surname is sometimes spelled Cosacovici or Cazacovici.

Kyriakos S. Pittakis or Pittakys (1798–1863) was a Greek archaeologist from Athens.

Isidore of Kiev, also known as Isidore of Thessalonica, was a Byzantine Greek Metropolitan of Kyiv, cardinal bishop, humanist, and theologian. He was one of the chief Eastern defenders of reunion at the time of the Council of Florence.

Konstantinos I. Logothetopoulos was a distinguished Greek medical doctor who became Prime Minister of Greece, directing the Greek collaborationist government during the Axis occupation of Greece during World War II.

Hegias or Hegesias of Athens was a famous sculptor of Athens, a member of the Late Archaic school of the generation before Pheidias. No surviving work can be securely identified as his, though Pliny mentions a Pyrrhus Supported by Pallas Athena.
