Miltiades the Elder
Miltiades the Elder was an Athenian politician from the Philaid family. He is most famous for traveling to the Thracian Chersonese, where at the behest of the local peoples he ruled as a tyrant. During his reign, Miltiades' best-attested action is the construction of a defensive wall across the peninsula.

Hippias of Athens was born c. 547 BC and was one of the sons of Peisistratos and a mother whose name and family are unknown. He was the last tyrant of Athens between about 527 BC and 510 BC, when Cleomenes I of Sparta successfully invaded Athens and forced Hippias to flee to Persia.

Perdiccas I of Macedon
Perdiccas I was king of the ancient kingdom of Macedon. Herodotus stated:
"From Argos fled to the country of the Illyrians three brothers of the descendants of Temenus, Gauanes, Aeropus, and Perdiccas; and passing over Illyria from the mountains they came into the upper parts of Macedonia to the city of Lebaia." "Now that these descendants of Perdiccas are Greeks, as they themselves say, I myself chance to know and will prove it in the later part of my history."
