Barbara Sukowa is a German theatre and film actress. She is known for her work with directors Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Margarethe von Trotta. She won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress for the film Rosa Luxemburg (1986). Her other film appearances include Lola (1981), Europa (1990), M. Butterfly (1993), and Hannah Arendt (2012). She starred as Katarina Jones in the television series 12 Monkeys (2015–18).

Andreas Kappes was a German cyclist, who was a professional from 1987 to 2009, active on the road and on the track, collecting in total 133 wins, and, as an amateur, represented West Germany at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. During the first half of his career he mainly raced on the road, eventually resulting in 99 wins, including winning Omloop het Volk (1991), Tour de l'Oise (1991), three stages in the Tour de Suisse, two stages in Paris–Nice and one stage in the 1988 Giro d'Italia. During the second half of his career he limited his activities on the road to mainly German criteriums as well as kermesses, which make up the chief part of his wins on the road. During the 1990s and 2000s he became known as a formidable track cyclist, including by winning 24 Six-day races, 13 of which with the Belgium Etienne De Wilde.

Reyhan Şahin, also known as Lady "Bitch" Ray, is a German rapper, linguist and former radio host of Turkish ethnicity.

Birgit Dressel was a West German heptathlete. Dressel participated in the 1984 Olympic heptathlon, where she ended ninth, and was fourth in the 1986 European Championships. She died at age 26 due to sudden multiple organ failure, which was at least partly triggered by long-term steroid abuse.

Torsten Albig is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party of Germany. From 2012 until 2017 he served as the 13th Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein.

David Safier ['sa:fiɐ] is a German writer and novelist. He wrote the television series Berlin, Berlin for which he was awarded the Adolf Grimme Award in 2003. Berlin, Berlin also won an International Emmy Award for best comedy in 2004. He has written several novels, among them Mieses Karma and Jesus liebt mich, which together sold two million copies, as well as Plötzlich Shakespeare, Happy Family, Muh! and Mieses Karma hoch 2. He also wrote 28 Tage lang.

Hans Koschnick was a German politician (SPD) and elder statesman. He was the President of the Senate and Mayor of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen from 1967 to 1985, the President of the Bundesrat in 1970/71 and 1981/82, and afterwards served as a member of the Bundestag, the German federal parliament, from 1987 to 1998. Between 1994 and 1996, Koschnick was the EU administrator of Mostar. He died on 21 April 2016.

Mirko Lang is a German actor, who has appeared in many different screenplays, television shows, as well as stage productions. Born in October 1978 in Bremen, Germany, he currently lives in Berlin. After doing his Abitur he started studying music and theatre in Hannover, where he also had his first appearances on stage. While still studying, he starred in several motion pictures including Engel and Joe and Das Wunder von Bern, which was a popular German movie. He finished studying in 2002 and won a Talent Award for being the best talented young actor in Germany. Since then, he has been working as an independent actor.

Uwe Bracht was a German football player. He spent eleven seasons as a midfielder in the Bundesliga with SV Werder Bremen.

Volker Spengler was a German stage and film actor. Spengler was best known to international audiences as a member of director Rainer Werner Fassbinder's acting ensemble, including his role as the transsexual Erwin/Elvira of Fassbinder's In a Year of 13 Moons (1978). Spengler appeared in about 40 film and television productions between 1966 and 2004, also working with other directors such as Christoph Schlingensief and Volker Schlöndorff. On stage, he performed at Berlin's Volksbühne and with the Berliner Ensemble.
