He left Cahiers du Cinéma to concentrate on directing. In addition to numerous documentaries he has directed feature films including Dora et la lanterne magique, Liberty belle and Un jeu d’enfant. He lectured on cinema at Université Paris III.

Lorette Eugenie Adrienne Margue Charpy is a French artistic gymnast. She was part of the team that won silver at the 2018 European Championships and individually she is the 2019 European Games all-around silver medalist and 2019 European Championships bronze medalist on the balance beam.

He translated works by Guillaume Apollinaire, Jean-Philippe Toussaint, Agota Kristof, Daniel Pennac and Amélie Nothomb. He received several awards for his literary works.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's 100 metre breaststroke, finishing in 17th place in the heats, failing to reach the semifinals. He was also part of the French men's 4 x 100 m medley relay team.
